One Day He Will Set All Things Right

Why the long silence you ask?

Questions.
Lots of questions- unanswered questions about-

tragedy,
catastrophe,
suffering,
the death of a friend,
failures- my own and others'

Why?

I don't know but I recommend this book for those of you who have a relationship with God through Jesus and this book for my skeptic friends.

This I do know:

One day He will set all things right! All is not right within me and all is not right within the world. I have been redeemed and am a new creation in Christ Jesus, but I still struggle within this body and soul. I am looking forward to that day-when our bodies and when all creation will be redeemed. No more injustice, sorrow, pain, suffering, sickness, death, no more orphans, or cancer, tornadoes, hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes, oilspills, or floods.


"For instance, we know that when these bodies of ours are taken down like tents and folded away, they will be replaced by resurrection bodies in heaven—God-made, not handmade—and we'll never have to relocate our "tents" again. Sometimes we can hardly wait to move—and so we cry out in frustration. Compared to what's coming, living conditions around here seem like a stopover in an unfurnished shack, and we're tired of it! We've been given a glimpse of the real thing, our true home, our resurrection bodies! The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what's ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we'll never settle for less."

Three Princesses

The weekend before Valentine's Day, D and I had the privilege of attending the Sweetheart Charity Ball. It was a fundraising event that benefitted Greenville's Meals on Wheels. We found out that we would be attending only a few days before the event, so we had quite alot to pull together in the way of our attire and a babysitter in a short amount of time. That time feels like it is cut in half if it involves taking a toddler and a preschooler to shop, but though it was stressful getting everything together, we had a great time when we finally made it to the ball. There was a silent auction and a Chinese auction, and we won a Parent's Night Out from the Little Gym and a gift certificate to TGIF! The dinner was nice and there was dancing too, so of course we had to break out the South Carolina state dance, the shag. It was fun to feel like a princess for an evening!
